About Us

Fairfax is a high-performance learning community, providing students with a rich academic program and a nurturing, challenging, and disciplined learning environment. While the emphasis is placed on reading, writing, and mathematics, students also have the opportunity to study social studies, science, and the fine arts. The Music Program allows fourth and fifth graders to participate in chorus, orchestra, and the band. The Sunrise Club and CAPS are available for students, before and after school, respectively. Our learning center provides assistance for our at-risk students during the school day. Tutoring and supplemental services help at-risk students during the school day to meet grade-level standards as well as provide enrichment for students who are proficient and advanced. Parents and guardians are encouraged to volunteer as soon as they meet the necessary requirements. Our School Site Council, African American Parent Advisory Council, and the English Language Advisory Committee meet regularly. Parents are also invited to attend parenting workshops.
